Do you mean the Osage tribe wished that white guardianship not feature too prominently in the film? I wasn't aware of that if that's what you're saying.

I read the David Grann book too. There's a lot of information in it, and it could have been told as a kind of story with a detective character investigating past atrocities. But I doubt that would have left enough room for the Osage language, culture, etc.
