Good observation re: bodies in the mass grave, but I’ll push back. The film does not really tell us what sparked the war. It cannot be that the war is just happening because the President claimed a third term. Why did he refuse to leave office? There must be some issue or incident that leads to the events in the film, and Garland simply does not want to give the story that layer of specificity.
