The most critical question when discussing “common ground” is, what are we compromising on?

Let me put something out there: Medicare For All.

Do you want to seek “common ground” in a manner that further entrenches the power of the U.S. health insurance industry? Most “moderates” do. They say, Americans like the idea of Medicare For All but when told private insurance may go away, they do not like it. Which is nonsense. The idea of government ensuring everyone is covered through a national system is so health care can truly be a human right in this country.

This is something that should not be compromised. There are many more examples. But here’s one where I bet you would suggest we agree to push for a “public option” or some other weak reform that will not get to the root of the problem.
